New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers (NEG-ECP)

Since 1973, the six New England states and the five Eastern Canadian provinces have worked cooperatively to address their shared interests, such as trade, energy security and affordability, environmental sustainability and modernizing transportation and industry.

The 11 member jurisdictions of NEG-ECP are New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Québec, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

The region’s Gross Domestic Product is $1.91 trillion CDN, making it one of the world’s largest economic blocs.

At an annual conference, premiers and governors join with academia and industry to advance the region. The NEG-ECP is composed of standing committees and working groups, which execute reports and resolutions passed at the annual conference.
