The Council of Atlantic Premiers
Formally established on May 15, 2000 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Regional Cooperation. The purpose of the Council is to promote Atlantic Canadian interests on national issues through enhancing existing mechanisms for cooperation and communication.

Initiatives
The Council of Atlantic Premiers strengthens Atlantic Canada through a number of initiatives, including agreements on apprenticeship harmonization and mobility, the Atlantic Growth Strategy, the Atlantic Workforce Partnership, a regional approach to procurement, and regulatory alignment.
